Frequently Asked Questions

Here you will find the answer to the most frequently asked questions that come in to Signum’s support

Is telemedicine private and secure?

Yes, but only when it is conducted using an encrypted platform that was designed for the purpose. Our platform and your data is hosted on an NHS approved server with multiple layers of security. Our consultants can only use the network via a Virtual Private Network that has been pre-approved. Consumer apps like Facetime and Skype are not secure enough for video visits.

Is the quality the same as an in-person visit?

The quality of telemedicine as a method of healthcare delivery is confirmed by decades of research and demonstrations. Telemedicine has been found to be a safe, cost-effective and convenient way to provide healthcare services.

Will insurance companies cover online consultations?

There are some health insurers that do offer a policies that cover telemedicine or online medical appointments. Before proceeding with any of our services we strongly advise that you check with your medical insurer first. Please head to our partners page to view of a list of health insurers that we work with. Please note not all are listed, and in all cases you are advised to contact them prior to using our services.

Are the services free?

Most of our solutions require a form of payment; individuals who want a quick diagnosis can “pay as you go” there is no need to sign up for annual contracts. Our NHS partners also purchase our solutions on behalf of their patients.

Once you’ve registered an account, you can use a load of features for free.
